San Francisco is a wonderful place for knitters. In addition to the sweater-worthy climate, we have some great knitting stores. Although I buy a lot of yarn online (more on that in a future post), I do love any excuse to drop into our various LYSes. My favorite is Imagiknit, located between the Castro and Dolores Park — lucky for me, an area I travel to almost daily. Though other San Francisco yarn stores are great, Imagiknit has, without a doubt, the best selection and the best prices. It’s also near and dear to my heart because it’s where I first learned to knit.

This is just one wall of many. See what I mean about selection?

Look at all that freakin' Koigu!

See Samovar diagonally across the street? Yarn and organic tea make for a perfect afternoon.

That is the very bike rack where my bike was locked up and my front tire stolen while I was at work!! I spent so many hours teaching inside Samovar. It’s a wonder it only happened that once. Of course, I did lose all my bike lights that way too.
