I am digging this blogging thing. Although I am a writer by profession, I’ve never been much of a diary keeper. Blogging, however, suits my personality — I can slice out little unrelated snippets of life and create a post. Blogging heightens my awareness of daily life as I am now often thinking, “Could this be a post?” or “That would make a great post!” And it goes without saying that feedback and comments are wonderful inspiration.

Onto today’s post. Now that my little people are at the same school, which is — more or less — on my husband’s way to work, my day begins as soon as they head out the door, a full hour earlier than it used to start. Many days, the first thing I do is take my dog for a walk. I love the fresh air, even if it’s blustery and rainy. On a recent day, the weather was perfectly temperate as we walked to Pacific Heights. Along for the journey was my parents’ dog, who was staying with us for a few days. Here are some photos…
