We’re off to a rocky start to summer vacation.  The little people aren’t behaving great and neither am I.  We’re adjusting to much more togetherness than we’re used to.  And my tolerance level has been affected by horomonal irritability, if you know what I mean.  Nevertheless, through trial and error, I’ve determined that these long school breaks are aided, in part, by adventures combined with errands and mom work time.  So this week, we had a visit to the Daly City Party Playhouse and we took a ride on a double-decker San Francisco tour bus (we see those buses all over town and have long been wanting to try one ourselves).   We  also went berry picking!

That's 5.25 lbs.

That's 5.25 lbs.

Overall, it was a fun and productive adventure.  But it was hot and everyone got a little whiny and complain-y at the end.

I’m really hoping that everybody’s behavior — most notably, mine — improves in the few weeks before day camp starts.   I am working towards more (much more) patience and kinder reactions.  I am really trying.  Ironically, I’ll soon be attending a reading by the author of Bad Mother.  I wonder if I’ll feel better or worse after hearing her speak…
