As I mentioned, I bought the pattern for the super cute Siena Hat by KnitWhits at Stitches.  I figured I’d have fun culling through my leftovers and finding just the right color combination.  I was also eager to try that totally excellent braided brim.  Well, all I can say is…boo!  The pattern calls for 7 coordinating colors and whenever I came across a magical combination, I found that one or two of the leftovers didn’t have quite enough yarn for the project — so I’d have to start selecting 7 new ones from scratch.  I finally pulled together a combo that I liked enough (translation: didn’t love — the way I love KnitWhits’s samples) and watched her braid tutorial twice.  I started last night and let’s just say (again)…boo!  I simply didn’t like it.  Period.  The colors didn’t look good and the whole braid thing was going to get on my nerves.  So…rather than let this pattern purchase languish, I decided to give it away!  (Important note — Rest assured, I am giving away the original pattern that I bought at Stitches — in the sleeve protector and everything — it’s not a copy!!!)   Leave me a comment by 9 a.m. Pacific time Sunday (3/21) morning and tell me…well, tell me anything!…and I’ll enter you in the drawing.  I’ll (randomly) pull and announce one winner soon after.  I will be pleased to send along this lovely pattern to someone who will give it more care and love than I will!  🙂  P.S.  I wore my Napoleon Vest the other night for the first time — I was pretty happy with how it looked and fit.  Yea!
