First cowl.  First handspun.

I used a Raveler’s modifications to a Burberry-inspired cowl pattern.  It was super quick.  I could have made the wider version — I had a ton of yarn leftover.  Speaking of yarn, it was a lovely 2-ply aran weight handspun I bought on Etsy.  It was nice, very nice.  Was it worth 30 bucks?  No.  There are such amazing commercially spun yarns out there for a fraction of the cost.  While I definitely would purchase handspun again, I don’t expect it to become an addiction.  (Phew!)

Like I said, I had a fair amount of yardage leftover — enough to make a baby hat:

Question:  is there too much pink in this yarn to give as a baby gift for someone who doesn’t know the gender of her baby?  (In other words, if she ends up having a boy, will this hat be too feminine?)
