OMG, I am crazy in love with this:

That’s the newly released Collins from Baby Cocktails. I am seriously in love. I love how it’s traditional but has a modern twist in that wrap element. After Iced, this is likely to be next in the queue for me. I’m considering using Knit Picks City Tweed HW. If you’ve been following my blog for the past year, you’ll know that I haven’t been especially happy with the sweaters I’ve knit in that time frame. (Love the vests. The sweaters? Meh…) But I’m so sick of knitting hats. Iced is going to be a good mindless entree back into garment knitting. But this Collins cardigan, if it knits up the way I hope it will, could wind up being an all-time favorite. We’ll see…

It’s cute, but I worry that it won’t stay closed unless you stand still like the model.
I love Dark and Stormy from the same collection…

I think she has instructions for making sure it stays closed. I, too, love Dark and Stormy — the yarn she used for that looks amazing!

Hi kids,
Actually two things make it stay closed – (this is my second go round on the design, as the first didn’t at all)
First – a tweedy, wooly non-floppy yarn, and second – a hidden snap on the inside. This one stayed closed enough that I helped set up chairs for the Ravelry Rhinebeck party while wearing it!
And PS, on the blog post – thanks SO much for the kind words! You have no idea how much things like this just make my day 🙂 Thea

Thea — That’s so helpful. Thank you! I didn’t know about the snap (I haven’t purchased the pattern yet but it’s on my list). Really, kudos on an innovative design! 🙂 Leslie

I love it too. Love the set in sleeves, love the cables and the large collar. Not a fan of ‘wrap’ styles though. They make me look too fat. So, I’d mod it somehow.

I think I’m going to lengthen it to hide my mom belly! 🙂

I love this too. Right now I’ve not been knitting anything by anyone else, and I really, really, just want to get this and knit it.

Totally agree! Can’t wait to see your version. 🙂
