Two sleeves done on my Campbell:
So far so good. This Peruvia Quick makes you feel, to quote another Leslie blogger (who used the same yarn for another sweater), like you are making all kinds of progress in a short amount of time. And, amazingly, I got gauge with the needles called for! Usually, I’m such a loose knitter that I have to go down at least 2 sizes — but not here.
Oh, and since my last post about the Kate shawl, I’ve discovered some more variations on Ravelry. You can see the new ones in my favorites.

I agree! Taking a small break to knit a Hug Monster, thanks to your introduction to it!

I just finished the knitting (and crocheted border) of the large Kaleidoscope shawl. I am doing ebay stuff tonight. Next up, either my new beaded lace shawl pattern or a small Kaleidoscope using more standard hand-dyed yarn.

Beaded shawl? Wow. I’m too scared to use beads! I can’t wait to see everything. 🙂

Beads the way I like to do them are very easy. I never pre-string them (I hate the wear on the yarn, and I hate having to push them down out of my way) I use the ‘add as you go’ method with a small crochet hook you just place the bead (#6 for fingering weight) on the crochet hook (a #11 works for me) then place the hook though the upcoming stitch on the lh needle with the hook facing upward, then slide the yarn through the bead/slide the bead down over the yarn. Then place the stitch from the crochet hook back on the lh needle, ready for the next stitch to be worked. easy!

Perhaps I’ll summon up my courage someday – that and steeks!

[…] I used Cascade 220 (even though the pattern called for bulky weight yarn) and size 5 needles. I kept forgetting to hide my short-row wraps, so this monster is a bit flawed. But it adds to his (her?) charm, I think. Meanwhile, I’m working on the fronts of my Campbell. […]
