After seeing this on Diana’s blog, I knew I had to make a Hug Monster for my kid, who’s going to sleepaway camp later this summer. Perfect application, right?
I used Cascade 220 (even though the pattern called for bulky weight yarn) and size 5 needles. I kept forgetting to hide my short-row wraps, so this monster is a bit flawed. But it adds to his (her?) charm, I think. Meanwhile, I’m working on the fronts of my Campbell.

It’s an awesome Hug Monster! Do tell about hiding short row wraps. I’ve been learning short rows reading Elizabeth Zimmermann but didn’t know there was a way to hide the wraps.

Yes! You’re supposed to knit the wraps together with the stitch above (search YouTube — I’m sure there are tons of videos!) and I kept forgetting to do that. It definitely makes the fabric look nicer when you remember to do it. 🙂
