Thanks for the enthusiasm about Cheer: A Novel, which is officially available on Amazon. Wuh-hoooo! You can get it for less than the cost of a San Francisco latte. In my humble opinion, it’s a great, quick beach read for the end of the summer. If you do read it, please let me know what you think. I’d love the feedback. (And I’d love to see you over at my author blog.) I’d also be super, duper grateful if you let your reader friends know about Cheer.
Meanwhile, I’ve been working away on my latest granny blanket. I can’t say granny square blanket because I’m making hexagons:
Brown is the unifying outer color. The centers, which are circles, will be pinks, blues, greens, tan, off-white, etc. I also finished a hat:
I am in early pre-craft fair mode. (And guess who’s running the craft fair this year?!) So expect to see more hats in the coming months. I also got the August shipment of the Cookie A Sock Club:
I wasn’t wild about the patterns that came with the shipment but I wanted to stick with a Cookie A design so I’m making her Kai-Mei socks, my first from her book that I got awhile ago. The yarn is Enchanted Knoll Farm’s superwash sock yarn. At first, I wasn’t wild about the color but it’s growing on me as I see other knitters’ finished socks. The cookie recipes from the shipment look yummy. I’ll be giving one or both of them a try sometime in the next few weeks.

Thank you. I’ll get a shot of all my colors in the coming weeks. Loved your post about yarn storage, by the way! 🙂

I will purchase your book. Love your pic. Can you give us details about your scarf?

Love the hexagons, love the sock yarn.. have you seen Cookie A’s new book? COOL sweaters!

Yes! I just looked at her patterns today — amazing, as one would expect. By the way, I didn’t send you a copy of Cheer because you mentioned you don’t read women’s fiction. However, if you’d like it, let me know. No pressure — I know reading time is very precious and no use reading a genre you don’t like. 🙂

I’d be glad to read it at some point, but I hesitate to give a date by which I could review it. I am SO far behind from being sick at the old house. I am up to 8-9 reviews a month now though. :-}
If I can find a way to have someone at Fresh Fiction review it, would you mind if I passed it on to them?

You are so kind. I just gifted it to you via Amazon. Feel free to read or pass along! THANKS, as always.

I love that shade of green! It’s funny, because I used to not like green at all. I think that would make a very lovely Kai-Mei.

Thanks! Green is actually my favorite color but this is pretty intense! 🙂

Great blanket – love the colours! The hexagon shapes are a nice change from the usual squares … =D

I agree! And the stitches are fun and memorize-able…

[…] We just returned from a few days in Portland and Seattle (my little people were very excited to have finally ventured outside of California!). I stumbled on one yarn shop during our travels (near Pike’s Place Market in Seattle), but my kids were acting too hyper to spend quality time in there. (Can anyone else relate to that?) Oh well. In the meantime, I’ve been working on my Kai-Mei socks: […]
